A unique getaway featuring 2 Tiny Houses, 1 wheelchair-accessible Lodge, 1 Cabin with a retractable roof combined with its own small Yurt, 1 Wellness/Spa Area with a Nordic Bath and Sauna, and 1 large Yurt available for workshops, seminars, or private events, accommodating up to 40 people, all available for rent.
All nestled on a stunning 2-hectare estate, surrounded by nature.
Nestled in the heart of the Ain region, between Geneva and Lyon, Refuge Insolite in Bugey welcomes you in a haven of tranquility. Set in a peaceful corner of mid-altitude mountains — without ever feeling isolated — the estate offers four unique, eco-friendly accommodations built from noble, sustainable materials: two Tiny Houses, one Lodge and one Cabin .
Come to unwind and reconnect with mother nature in Cormaranche-en-Bugey, at 900 meters above sea level, in every season:
Book « le Logis de Ambre », also fully accessible to guests with disabilities, and enjoy breathtaking views through its vast picture windows as you admire autumn and its ever-changing colors.
In winter, with snow gently falling, warm yourself by the fire in « Le Cabanon de M&M’s » ; in spring, delight in nature’s renewal and blossoming flowers.
And in summer, breathe in the fresh air and gaze at the stars from the comfort of your bed in « Le Nid Étoilé d’Augustine »or L’Observatoire Céleste de Titi.
A little extra to make your stay truly unforgettable: all year round, immerse yourself in pure relaxation by privatizing le Spa d’Albane. The outdoor Nordic Bath and indoor Sauna offer a rejuvenating break, open not only to guests but also to locals seeking a wellness escape.
To complete our on-site offering, La Grande Yurt du Club des 5 (accommodating up to 40 people) is available for rent for seminars, workshops, or family gatherings.

And because Refuge Insolite en Bugey is also a place for inner exploration, we welcome guests year-round for “Return to Self” stays—available for individuals, couples, or groups—Silent Retreats, and a “Reconnection” retreat inspired by nature, stillness, and the gentle, caring guidance offered in partnership with the Les Papillons du Cœur association.
The purpose of these themed stays and retreats is to slow down, arrive fully, honor the present moment, (re)discover silence, and reconnect with what truly matters.

This tiny house invites you to look up at the sky through its retractable roof and fall asleep together beneath the stars, in this cozy cocoon to be shared with family, as a couple, or with friends.
Le Logis de Ambre

This lodge, adapted for guests with reduced mobility, invites families and friends to come together in a light-filled cocoon, thanks to its large picture windows, to share precious and heartwarming moments.

Who are we ?
What can we tell you about us? We’re known as… the Club of 5! Yes, everything works in fives here...
Your 5 hosts: Marion, Maxime, and our 3 daughters, Ambre, Augustine, and Albane! Our 5 cats: Titi, Gribouille, Bleuet, Bilbonne, and Noirot!
And Chloé, who joined the adventure for 2 years!
And again, as 5 is our favorite number, we started this project by designing 5 different “spaces” on our estate.
